Sporvejen
About This Spot
Stepping into Sporvejen feels like boarding a charming piece of Copenhagen’s past — this small burger bar is cleverly housed inside a refurbished 1950s tram car, creating a cozy and intimate setting that invites conversation and relaxed dining. The narrow space, with its vintage details and warm lighting, sets a gentle rhythm to your visit, encouraging you to settle in and savor the flavors without rush.
On pleasant days, the atmosphere spills outside to the lively Gråbrødretorv, where al fresco dining adds a breezy layer to the experience. Whether nestled inside the tram’s snug compartments or soaking up the vibrant square, Sporvejen offers a distinct local vibe that balances tradition with a playful twist.
Here, burgers are far from ordinary. The kitchen may focus on a simple menu, but each creation is thoughtfully crafted with juicy, freshly made patties and thoughtfully paired toppings, inviting you to explore familiar favorites alongside inventive options like pineapples, curry chutneys, or creamy guacamole. Accompanied by golden potato wedges, the flavors feel both satisfying and comforting, perfectly complemented by a well-chosen selection of beers and elderflower cider.
The service reflects the setting’s unpretentious charm — friendly faces who know their regulars but welcome newcomers with ease, enhancing the warm atmosphere. Sporvejen’s intimate scale means it often buzzes with quiet energy, a place where the clink of glasses and the hum of conversations meld softly with the occasional laughter.
For those who appreciate a spot where history, community, and good food intersect, Sporvejen offers an authentic and quietly joyful pause in Copenhagen’s city center. It’s less about rushing in and more about lingering over good company and memorable bites in a uniquely local setting.

Interesting interior dining area refurbished from an old tram from the 1950s. Quite nice to sit inside but when the weather is good it’s quite cooling to dine outside also. Service is very friendly and generally quite prompt. Quite a few different burgers to choose from. The patty is freshly made and cooked to medium, it is very juicy and quality is consistent. No fries and only potato wedges are available.

Good burgers. Liked the bacon n cheese budget the most. Friendly and good service. The place itself is small. Prices are a little on the higher side. Overall it is good.

This was the first restaurant we had lunch at when we arrived in Copenhagen, and we were really amazed at how cute it is. It's like a train wagon, so it's rather small, especially for someone plus-sized like me, but it was worth squeezing in a bit to enjoy a tasty burger and cold beer.

Stopped here for lunch and the burgers were some of the best I've eaten. When I visited it was busy so a little wait to be seated and a little wait on food but this would be expected due how busy it was. The food was really good and filling. I would recommend eating here.

Ambience: Such a cute, unique place. It was very chilled and interesting ambience. The inside looked like a long train . But super unique. Food: Excellent. It only serves burgers but what a burger. Extremely delicious with big portions. Service: Excellent. Overall: Definitely try it if in Copenhagen

As the burgers come with fries we shared one for two and that was no problem for the staff. Very tasty! Good sauce. The young serving staff was a bit unorganised - one asked the drinks, a second brought them and the cuttlery, saying “I will be with you shortly” to then serving other tables - we had to ask the third to get the food order - and a fourth was bringing the food… also for the payment we had to ask twice - service could be improved

What a find, an amazing place. If you can sit inside, it is like the inside of an old tram. Burger was excellent, staff great, and not too pricey. Added bonus is that the beer comes in 1 litre glasses

Sprovejen is a great burger restaurant styled as the inside of an olde time tram. The decor is fun, different, and exciting. The burgers are delicious, juicy, and memorable. They have a good range of burgers and you can add an egg or other extras to them if you wish. I chose to do this. The staff are friendly, service is fast and polite. The premises is very clean and well looked after. Would return!
